What is the CCPA?

The California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 ('CCPA') is a California state law that went into effect on January 1, 2020, with significant updates through the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) effective January 1, 2023. This comprehensive privacy law affects how businesses handle the personal information of California residents.

This page addresses two key components of the CCPA/CPRA:

  1. Notice and Disclosure Requirements: Businesses must inform consumers about their data collection and sharing practices.
  2. Individual Rights for California Consumers: Including the rights to:
    • Access personal information
    • Delete personal information (available through our Claim Your Professional Profile process)
    • Opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal information (available through our Do Not Sell My Info page)
    • Limit the use of sensitive personal information

Can I still use GHOST Marketing under CCPA?

Absolutely. Our surveillance technology and visitor identification systems are designed with privacy compliance in mind.

How CCPA impacts your business depends on what you do with the personal information you collect through GHOST Vision™, GHOST Data™, and GHOST Tracker™. We recommend each customer conduct their own evaluation of how any applicable law (including CCPA) affects their specific business practices and implementations.

As long as you comply with the CCPA as it applies to your business, GHOST Marketing will continue to help you unmask anonymous visitors and transform hidden clicks into actionable revenue opportunities.

We are committed to providing tools that help businesses succeed while respecting privacy regulations. Our platform is built to support your compliance efforts through:

  • Customizable privacy controls
  • Transparent data collection mechanisms
  • Opt-out functionality
  • Clear documentation for implementing compliant solutions
